Building Your Brand: Three Tips to Separate Yourself from the Crowd
As the real estate market continues its white-hot momentum, the competition for listings continues to increase, and more new agents enter the market your brand could be the difference between securing a new client or leaving money on the table. But how do you make your brand stand out? How do you go about building it up and setting yourself up for success? How do you know if your brand is helping to build your business? Our latest webinar featured a conversation with digital real estate brand builder Tyler Auerbacher from Dippidi as he and Randy Caroll talked with Tristian about how real estate professionals can separate themselves from the pack with smart brand development. For the full conversation, check out the video below or read on for the highlights.
First and foremost, remember that brand building is about the long game. Sure, Google PPC might bring people to your website, but do they like what they see when they get there? Is there a brand experience? Is it the same as everyone else? Your brand is a critical part of the marketing flywheel – your job as a brand is to attract, engage, and delight your audience. How can realtors and brokerages do that?
- Consider targeting a niche market. Don’t use a generic model to communicate; showcase your understanding of this specific market segment and tailor your communications to them.
- Uncover what makes you, well… YOU. And stick to it. No matter the channel – website, Facebook post, newsletter – remember to be authentically you. After all, there is no one else who is! Plus, you want to attract people who you really want to work with so let your personality shine through. Fake or “fronting” will only cause harm in the end as it will inevitably cause burnout for you and your potential clients. Admittedly, it can be tough to share authentic content as anxiety and self-doubt tend to creep in, but double down on the content that showcases what makes you unique. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
- Creating content that establishes your brand can be intimidating. Take a look at other accounts or brands that are putting out great content – you can probably already think of a couple! Take inspiration from them and consider incorporating those elements into your own content as you go. Tyler suggests creating 2-4 primary content themes and sticking with those …week in and week out.
