4 Tips to Building A Real Estate Brand With Video

So you are interested in video, but you don’t know quite where to start. Create an efficient marketing system by implementing video strategically.

The first step to successfully utilizing video marketing is defining your brand. In order to take advantage of all video has to offer, you need to understand YOUR messaging. You need to know who you want to appeal to and why you will appeal to them. Below, we are going to walk through building a brand and four tips to help you implement branding with video.

Remember: if you build your brand, you build your business.

Creating A Real Estate Brand

Everyone has a brand. Rather than thinking of yourself as an individual, think of yourself as a business. After all, as an agent, YOU are your business.

  • How do you communicate?
  • How do you dress?
  • How do you fit in your community?
  • How do you stand apart?
  • How do people remember you?

The goal of branding is to make your name synonymous with real estate. When people think of moving, you want them to think of you.

Statistically, 97% of consumers choose an agent, not a brokerage. That proves just how important the individual is. People hire YOU, not the office you work for.

Tip 1: Know your story.

Once you have an idea of your brand, nail down the story you are trying to tell. If you have a story, you can overcome many of the obstacles that prevent most from attempting video marketing in the first place. Knowing what to say and where to start are much less difficult if you already know where you want the story to go.

When thinking about your story, just think about who you are. There is no need to get too philosophical here. Consider a few defining characteristics and focus on them. If you are professional, precise and polite, build a strategy around how knowledgeable and competent you are. Talk about lending best practices and how to negotiate at closing. If you are new to real estate but you know every nook and cranny of your neighborhood, highlight what a local you are. Take your audience on a tour.

Tip 2: Find a theme.

Having a theme keeps things consistent. With marketing, consistency is key. Figuring out your centralized theme is the key to longevity and authenticity. It’s crucial that you create video content you are excited about because when you do, it’s authentic.

If your theme is being a local, make sure you show how integrated you are in your community with every post. If you stick to being professional, do so in a way that still lets your personality shine through.

Tip 3: Name your series.

Once you have a brand and a theme, come up with a name that ties it all together. Naming a series links each episode and helps maintain consistency.

Embrace who you are. Use it to your advantage.

Another thing to remember is that you don’t always have to discuss real estate. You can interview business owners, tour neighborhoods, or show local points of interest. Welcome someone into your community with content that fits who you are and the clients you want to attract.
